Schmidt picks up endorsement of NRA in Kansas 2nd District race

The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announced today its endorsement of former Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt in his campaign to represent Kansas’ Second Congressional District, and incumbent Tracey Mann in his primary in Kansas’ Big 1st.

First District Congressman Tracey Mann has received the NRA nod since his first campaign for congress in 2020 and is a longtime NRA member. Ron Estes holds the organization’s letter in the 4th District race. All men are Republicans.

Schmidt thanked the organization for its support:

“My commitment to protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Kansans is reflected in my lifetime A+ rating from the NRA, and I am honored to once again receive their endorsement,” Schmidt said. “Throughout my time in public service, I’ve always fought to defend the right to keep and bear arms – from helping persuade the U.S. Supreme Court to broaden Second Amendment protections to enacting and expanding concealed carry in Kansas. In Congress, I will keep standing tall to protect the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.”
