INDEPENDENCE, MO. – Police in the Kansas City area say a spree of violence by two Honduran illegals cost an Oklahoma man his life, resulted in a critical gunshot wound to an Independence woman and the severe beating of a second female before the two illegals were brought into custody.
KOAM television in Pittsburg, Kansas, reported the body of Jesse Gilmore, 63 of Oklahoma, was discovered along a stretch of I-44 in Jasper County Missouri on Monday. The television station said police had arrested two brothers, one age 20 and the other 26, both Honduran nationals in the United States illegally, in connection with Gilmore’s murder and other crimes in the Kansas City area.
A statement from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said security footage captured Adin Aman Cantarero Benitez, 26, approaching Gilmore as the older man sat in his red Chevy Cobalt at the Road Ranger gas station in Joplin about 3:30 a.m. on September 16th and had a brief conversation with him before shooting him in the head, pushing his body across the seat and driving off in the vehicle. Benetiz’ brother, Jose Benetiz, 20, followed in another vehicle before before the two dumped Gilmore’s body at the 14.8 mile marker on I-44 east of Joplin.
ICE “Most Wanted” list of alleged illegal alien criminals
The following day Independence Police responded to an apparent carjacking in which a woman was shot in the chest. Investigators said Jose Benitez fled that scene but was later arrested by officers shortly before midnight Tuesday near Gilmore’ stolen car, after they received a call from a woman who was pistol whipped.
Adin Benetiz was later arrested in Independence on suspicion of DUI driving a pickiup. The woman who was shot is reported in critical condition at a Kansas City area hospital.
Officers drafted charges against Adin Benetiz of first degree murder, armed criminal action and first degree robbery which were submitted to the Jasper County prosecutor. Charges were also expected to be filed against Jose Benitez. An autopsy was set to be performed on Gilmore Friday.
Gilmore’s murder is thought to be the first direct homicide involving illegal aliens in the Kansas City areaz amid the recent firestorm surrounding crime by illegals who’ve accessed the country since the Biden/Harris administration’s lax border enforcement policies of the past three years.
